An Amazing Journey

My name is Steve Richardson. I am a husband, father and grandfather. I am also a man who is in long-term recovery who has a son in recovery as well. I am a multiple trauma survivor and someone who understands the shere panic that comes from not knowing what tomorrow is going to bring. So, it is safe to say there is probably isn’t much an addict, parent, husband, or human has done or gone through that I haven't personally experienced.

All types of recovery and self-improvement are important and very personal to me. So much so that, at the age of 51, I closed a successful consulting firm and returned to school to make good on a promise to be the “help" that wasn’t there for me or my son.  Along with my advanced training and education, I bring nearly 40 years of marriage, and 50+ years of life experience to every individual, family and group that I am blessed to work with.

I created the Not-In-Stone Project (NiSP) to help anyone that is barely hanging on find their way back to peace and purpose. I believe in the prevention and treatment through education, counseling, evidence-based interventions, outreach, and advocacy. I believe that no one’s illness or situation should dictate the quality of their future and that their pain and struggle are real. Every life matters and, as long as there is breath, there is hope because no one’s future is carved in stone.

Mine wasn’t.
